it's a brand of test that isn't as accurate as the ones we frequently recommend - the captia and herpeselect tests. I really can't help you much with your results since the testing you are getting done isn't very good :(
Second test contained whole number results as well...results went up from 159 to 169 on igg. Is this an accurate test? Paperwork states it is Elisa. ?
There were no decimal points, and I was confused by that. I will have results from second test tomorrow or Tuesday. Thank you so much.
then you need to seek out better herpes igg blood testing if there weren't any periods in those numbers. The igg testing you have listed isn't one we recommend to have done so helping you rule out false positives and commenting on the accuracy of the test isn't something I can help you with.
No. I have lived in the States all my life except from 1994-1997 when we lived in Germany.
are you outside of the US?
cont. After giving me results, my doctor told me that the tests mean that I was exposed to the virus, and it is possible that I had been exposed over thirty years ago. My lack of outbreaks is because I have a very strong immune system, and I do not need to worry about infecting my husband. No medicine, no precautions. How could this be?
I am waiting on second test results.
These are my results from 1st test:
herpes simplex igm types 1/2 0.17
hsv-2 igg antibody 159
husband's:
herpes simplex igm types 1/2 0.40
hsv-2 igg antibody 27
I retested today with an independent lab. Will have results on Tuesday at the latest. Will provide information then. Thanks so much.
I can best help you if you post your actual numeric results - e.g. hsv1 igg 5.9 and hsv2 igg 1.2 or whatever they are. that way we can be sure you were tested properly and see if you need any additional confirmatory testing done.
