I have it in both places but I seem to think it is more accepted orally by people
You could just say you have hsv1. I would rather date someone with it genitaly than orally. I would have less of a chance of contracting hsv1 that way.
I havnt had an outbreak for 3 years would that mean I shed most likely less than 15 days I also have it orally so would it be ok to just say I have it orally since it is same virus
Disclosure is up to you. If your partner gets cold sores than it's a non issue. Remember most adults have it so it's very common. If it were me I would disclose you have hsv1. You will feel so much better being in a relationship when you are honest about it. We have all dated or had relations with someone who has hsv1. Probably many. I highly doubt being honest will ever hurt your dating or sex life.
Hope this helps
Some people don't have recurring outbreaks and some long term infections shed very little. This hasn't been studied a lot. It's believed it sheds around 15 days out of the year.
Yes genital to genital hsv1 transmision is not very common at all. Most of the shedding isn't enough to contract another.
