Can I transfer cold sores even when I don't have any outbreak?

I cought oral herpes from my sister after she used a water bottle and I was unaware. Is it possible to pass oral herpes when you don't have an outbreak? I feel a tingle when one is about to start and stop kissing at that point. From what I've read the answer is yes. I just wanted to check in a medical community.Does that mean I have to stop kissing for the rest of my life? It makes me really sad and depressed that I have contracted it. She was very irresponsible and now I have to pay for it the rest of my life. :'( this is horrible and it's not fair. I have to suffer because someone was careless.
