possible transmission... :(

Could my 2 year old son have caught hsv2 from our bathtub? It is cleaned regularly but not an everyday thing...he has a small rash resembling a diaper rash but I am terrified that if he is diagnosed that his father I share custody with will be inclined to attempt to take him from me...ofcourse I know it is an STI...but i know hsv1 can be transmitted via salivA-drinks kisses etc.. before that my greatest fears are ruining his life...causing him unneccessarg discomfort physically and emotionally later on... my first outbreak was horrible and he is just a baby...knowing i could have caused this makes me feel like the worst mother on earth...i hate myself for it...and i fear he will hate me later in life when i have to explain it to him. It breaks my heart...ive only ever loved and nurtured my child and this makes me question my every move ive made since my diagnosis.
I am taking him to his pediatrician asap...and hoping that i am wrong.

I agree, there is no way through normal hygiene practices that your son can become infected.

The practical way for your HSV2 to be passed is through sexual contact.

Im no expert but i dont think that is possible, pretty sure hsv2 must be skin to skin contact with heat and friction
