Thats what I have read as well. Again with the use of an unbroken condom I don't see this is an issue of herpes at all.
Update on symptoms and treatment.
Today I continued to take the doxycycline, I still feel pain at the tip of my penis, that is there through most of the day. I also have an urge to urinate for most of the day. Urination causes me NO pain. Does this rule out urethral herpes? I thought herpes is meant to really burn if you had it in your urethra.
Still no signs of lesions or blisters.
Thats the spirit !!!! Yeah your doc seems all over the board. Always go back to risk factor. Yours was incredibly low. Keep us posted on future results. There are many reading these posts in the same boat brother.
Yeah lol I can see how life360 thought my doctor was completely wrong. He scared me a lot by telling me that it could be herpes! Don't know why he would do that, especially considering he was in a GUM clinic. He said things that in my head I really did question considering I have been reading on this site for a while now. The doctor even asked me if I was sure that the condom did not break! But I would have noticed if it did, I was completely sober.
I wanna thank you and life360 for really helping me calm down instead of rushing to conclusions. My chlamydia test results aren't even back yet. Though it should be noted they tested me for stds 4days after exposure and at the time I was already on doxycycline, I was on it for 2 days, and then they told me to stop, and now they gave me doxycycline and told me to take it!!!!!
I guess I'll need more evidence before I make any conclusions. I need to give this doxycycline thing time to see if it works too. I'll get tested at around 8 weeks with an igg select for herpes just to be sure.
Hopefully the results are negative. This experience has taught me a lot, and whether I end up having it or not, I plan to settle down and get married.
First off sorry for the spelling on my previous posts. Small phone fat fingers.lol
Man your chances of hsv from your one time exposure is so freaken low. The fact you wore protection for oral and vaginal sex is fantastic. Life360 educated me pn the odds and told me thats what I need to lean on for logic sake. Getting herpes inside you while wearing an unbrokken condom. Well you probably have better odds of seeing bigfoot, the lockness monster, winning the lottery and getting struck by lightning all in the same day.
Why do you think someone like life360 who is obviously well versed in this subject seems so baffled by your Dr's words and diagnosis. Plus no reason to scare the **** out of you with herpes when he has no EVIDENCE! !!! Not a cool move. if a doc told you hey I don't r know have anything really wrong but I think its cancer you would call him an idiot and walk out.lol. this is not any differant.
Thats the thing that got me as well. My doc scared me into believing as well. I since have gotten test results that I now have much more faith in and way more evidence that all is well.
The folks that help people on this forum deserve big time credit. Life360 grace and fleetwood are doing such an outstanding job they deserve way more than they get. They are also way better informed than any dr I have seen or talked to in person. Acrually more than all of them together!!!! My advice is to listen to them. We are in the same boat. I have just been in it longer but I know for a FACT most of your symptoms are stress and anxiety related. Also what you fid is not shameful. The fact you are so hard on yourself means you are a good guy.
Again I must thank you for your kind words, listening to your experience really comforts me. I have no lesions as of yet, but I am keeping an open for it. The reason I am scared of HSV is because I read that it can cause NGU without lesions, though it is rare.
I had a swab test done, and the doctor said that there was pus and bacteria they found. This is why he gave me the doxycycline. He told me that if it doesn't clear up in 2 weeks to return and try something like azithromyocin.
But you are right, I shouldn't let anxiety get the better of me. I have been a really dark place for the past couple of days. I will try my best to keep my head on straight.
