NGU, HSV and anxiety after sex with escort

Let me start off by saying I hate myself for what I have done. but here goes. I had protected oral and vaginal sex with an escort on the 11th. 3 days later I began to experience a painful sensation in my urethra and the tip of my penis. I was very scared of the possibility of contracting HPV and HSV. I went to the GUM clinic and they told me that I am just anxious, so they done a swab and a blood test, and told me nothing is the problem.

But the problem persisted, I continued to feel pain at the tip of my penis, burning during urination, and an urge to urinate, so I went again today, and they told me that I had NGU. So they gave me doxycycline to take, and told me if it doesn't clear up within 2-3 weeks to come back, because it might be caused by the herpes virus.

I am very worried and scared, I can't eat and I can't sleep because of how much I think about the issue. I worry about genital warts and herpes popping up. I hope the doxycyline clears things up, but if it doesn't I will be even more anxious. I asked the escort in question if she had been vaccinated for HPV and she said yes, and then I asked her if she had ever had herpes and other STDs and she said she was clean, this comforted me slightly but I don't trust her tbh.

I don't know what to do..... Do you think it is possible that HSV can cause these symptoms? I haven't had skin lesions.

Everything points to a reaction to the rubber in the condom or any lubs or spermisides inside. Getting a penis tip irritation when using a condom,  the rubber is causing a friction irritation much like a rug burn. As mentioned before, first time herpes outbreaks appear at point of contact and since your penis was covered, the tip irritation is not herpes related.

I'm really scared that these symptoms might be herpes. And I keep checking my penis and scrotum every few hours in fear. The burning I experience whilst urinating is mild, but I have a urge to urinate through out the day. And my scrotum is very itchy and red. I am still taking the doxycycline in hopes that it helps.

What are the chances that I caught herpes?

And what is the earliest I can do a blood test for antibodies?

Anxiety is hurting me. I am a paranoid of every itch and every bump I find. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If not part of your genital area (like the pubic monds area) made rubbing contact with hers during the protected vaginal sex , your chances are zero.
Testing at 8 weeks post exposure is a good indicator.

There was some rubbing contact in that area, but I can't remember all the details. I am really worried now.

I am wondering if this NGU that I have is being caused by herpes... It's been a day since I started taking the doxycycline. I just don't understand how it can be anything but herpes if I was wearing a condom. Surely condoms protect against NGUs very well. That Chlamydia and other bacteria is an unlikely candidate.

But my symptoms aren't intense, I feel an ache and stinging in the tip of my penis, and an urge to urinate. When I do urinate I don't experience intense burning, just a mild burn. I began to experience this symptom last week on thursday.

Please can you tell me what this could be?

I had no idea that first time outbreaks only occur at point of contact... I thought they could occur almost anywhere once they get in. The is a very good argument against the idea of urethral herpetic lesion. Is there data or studies to confirm herpes behaves like this?

She did use lube, condoms, and I rubbed my penis with an antiseptic wipe following the exposure. But it baffles me that it took 2days for the irritation to surface, surely the NGU should have started the following day. And this irritation has been going on for 5 days now surely it should have cleared up if it was merely a allergy.

It should be noted that I hardly experienced any discharge. Maybe a little clear discharge a few times, but it was very little.

Again thank you so much for all the info you have provided. I think I'm getting to the bottom of this.

Yes, all data shows that herpes first time outbreaks at point of contact. But those with long time herpes could have an outbreak anywhere in the boxer short area.

I had the same symptoms. As soon as I chilled out they went away. I had the sane urge to urinate. Why? Because thats the time I would inspect myself so it was always on my mind. Red itchy scrotum was from ne always touching and pulling it up to visually take a look. As soon as I stopped this it subsided In a few days. Us guys have a lot of things going on down there that are normal and we don't even really notice until we become hyper aware due to a scare or an act we are ashamed of. Take it easy on yourself in both ways. Your human and listen to life360. He has helped me out big time. Again your stress is your worst enemy. I know from experience. Every pimple, itchy spot, eye irritation or unexplained pain was HSV. Breathe easy brother I know your ok
