Possible false negative?

I went in for testing and my HSV-2 came back with a positive index value of 1.48.  My HSV-1 was also positive with a value of 4.97.  I have never had any symptoms and still don't.  I have read opinions that anything below 3.5 could be considered a false negative, and even read opinions that the new positive standard should be moved to anything above a 3.5 index value. I read in another post that one research study suggests that the HSV-1 result also should be taken into consideration.  That study, done in men but not women, showed that if someone was also positive for HSV-1, the HSV-2 result was more likely to be false. Does anyone have any suggestions or possibly any info on the study that states that a positive HSV-1 and a low HSV-2 is most likely a negative HSV-2?

Thank you. I am in the US and plan to retest. When I took this last test it had been almost 3 months since I had sex.
