One time encounter.....realistic risk

I am a boy, and i received oral sex, unprotected, from a girl who said she has herpes.   She told me she's only had one outbreak in her life, and was currently free.  She also told me i was safe.....so i checked on the internet and it seems im not.  Its only happened two days ago, I have no symptoms, but im terrified.  I know there is a possibility i got it, but Im wondering what is the realistic chance.

So Ive noticed a few pimple-looking things on my thigh (about 2/3 the way up, kind of towards the outside).  There's four in total.  Three of them are spaced about 2 inches apart, and the fourth is about half a centimeter from one of the three.  Whats the chances its herpes?

Its been two months since i was with the girl, and these dont hurt or itch or anything, im just a bit worried.  They have been there for about a week, and two of them looked like little whiteheads but then turned red.  I picked one off yesterday and it didnt really do anything, its just red now.  Ive heard herpes comes in a cluster, so does this spacing of a few inches apart count as a cluster or is this just some pimples.  Also, ive been playing some soccer the past few weeks so is it likely its just do to sweating more than usual from running.  Thanks for your help!!

if you have to look that hard to see the lip thing, odds are it's nothing worrisome at all.

should you get blood in your stool again, be seen promptly for a proper work up.

Ok, so i went to my college's student health services and talked to a doctor.  It was at 10 days and he seemed to think that I had nothing to worry about and that usually signs show up at about 3 days so that i should relax.  When i asked him about when I should get tested he said I shouldnt even bother with a test unless i see symtpoms.

Now Im at 20 days and everything downstairs looks fine although I had a lot of smegma for a week or so until i cleaned it and the base of the head where it was located is a little but darker shade of pink in spots than the tip.  But ere hasnt been any itching or burning or white heads or any of that sort of thing.

Also, about three days ago i noticed a tiny red spot on my upper lip right where it meets the skin.  This is more of a brighter  red color but it is really small.  I basically need to put my face right up to a mirror to notice it but when I do its definately there.  It doesnt hurt or itch or anything either.

Also, I havent noticed any more blood in my stools and the doctor said it is not anything to worry about

So with this information, what do you recommend i do?  Im a bit worried about the lip thing but it seems as if everything else is ok.  THoughts?

Any time you see blood in the stool that is a warning sign for a few things.  Blood in the bowl is not a good thing.

At this point you need to see your doctor.  We can't help you from this point not with symptoms like this.  While it doesn't sound HSV related it doesn't matter what we thing.  Please be seen for a proper work up.  Follow up with us after that has been done.

we don't have stats for transmission of oral herpes to the genital area. it happens but not enough for us to get measurable stats for.

if you contracted hsv1 genitally from receiving oral, it'll be pretty obvious.

no, nothing you can do after the fact to lower your risk of infection with hsv1. Wearing a condom when you receive oral sex is the best way to prevent it.

stopping your medications without asking your provider first is never a good idea. No reason to have stopped them because you received oral sex by no means.

Oh and a final question, I have rheumatoid arthritis, and usually take methotrexate and enbrel.  I skipped a few doses of methotrexate right before and i havent taken my most recent dosage because i know these drugs can affect the immune system.
So are the risks different due to the arthritis or the medications i take?

Thanks for the response. Also,

Do you know the percentage of risk?

And,

since this only happened 3 days ago, and the virus is still in the incubation period if its there, is there anything i can do to lower the risk.  I doubt there is, since ive been looking at a lot of stuff, but it would be difficult to really research this.  Ive been drinking a lot of water and tea to try and flush my system in the hopes it may help but do you know of anything i could try?

Unprotected oral sex if she has HSV orally is a LOW risk if she was having no outbreaks.  Now if she has HSV genitally then you have nothing to worry about since your encounter was oral only. Low risk doesn't mean no risk.  It just means the chances are low.  Oral sex just isn't the best way to transmit HSV.  It happens but it isn't the best.  While the virus does have asymptomatic shedding that is why we say a low risk.  If you don't have any symptoms between now and 3 weeks I would say you have nothing to worry about.  We have had one poster here who had a boyfriend for 5 years who had oral herpes and while they had a healthy oral sex life it took 5 years before she got HSV-1 genitally from him.

Chances are though you yourself may already have HSV (herpes) in the form of oral herpes as well.  About half the US adult population has it and it is common.  You can get tested now if you choose and you will know that any negative results will be up to before this encounter or you can test at 16 weeks for an accurate answer.

If you should get any symptoms be seen by your doctor within 24-48 hours for a lesison culture and typing.  If you can't be seen by your doctor contact your local health department and see if they can refer you to a cheap/free std clinic for proper evaluation and testing.
