Pain in urethra

Hello ,

7 days ago I received oral sex from someone I know but not too well. There was kissing involved but nothing else and we kept the clothes on. 2 days later I developed mild discomfort at head of my penis. It seemed like there's something in there even after urination. And sometimes it feels cold like someone has rubbed peppermint on it. If I try to contract muscles after urination there is some sort of pain. On a scale of 1 to 10 its probably 1 to 2 but its always there. It feels like there's something inside my urethra.
On day 6 I went to see a GP who checked my genitals and said there is some irritation on the head and its moist since its circumcised. He told my it might be fungal infection and gave me an anti-fungal cream. I also ran the standard urine test. My urinalysis is normal which means I do not have urinary tract infection and I am still awaiting results for std's.
The cream hasn't really helped. I have looked up similar cases online and in all of them the person was having trouble even after 3 months so I am really worried and anxious. So my questions are:
- What could this possible be?
- What are the chance of this being herpes or hiv? The woman had been tested 2 months after her last contact with another man and since the test I was her only sexual encounter. I do trust her to tell the truth.
- I have had no lesions or rashes or spots anywhere on my body as of yet. I have developed a mouth ulcer inside my mouth near the wisdom tooth and had a bad headache yesterday which went away by paracetamol. No fever or sore throat.
- I take thyroid medication since I had thyroid cancer and had a thyroidectomy. I have also been taking quite a lot of antibiotics for the past 5 months due to several problems but have never finished the doses.

Please help me as my anxiety is shooting through the roof. Thanks

Thnanks for your reply gustav. My results are all negative too. I am on 10 days of Doxcycline and it seems to be better. But sometimes I do feel it comes back. What do you suggest I do? and what worked for you ultimately.

Ned, I think you have a bad bacterial infection. I had this once, exactly what you are describing. My Urinalysis tests were all negative. Four herpes, HIV, and various other tests later, including thousands of dollars of Doctors visits and finally months of Doxcycline and metrazinadol treatments later I was cured. It took six months for the infection to clear up.

No it is not true, there are no documented cases of the male whose penis is being the subject of oral sex ever contracting HIV.

So are you saying there is zero risk for HIV. I have seen online that the virus can travel through the tip of the penis and that there have been cases attributed to oral sex. Is that true?

To the best of my knowledge i don't think I have had a cold sore. Do you have any idea what my symptoms might be. The fungal cream hasn't really helped and i am freaking out. Its almost 8 days on now and the only thing i have is the very dim  but constant icy-hot sensation on my penis head and a slight burning sensation while passing urine( <2 on a pain scale of 10) There are no rashes or spots. I do have an ulcer inside my mouth which hasn't caused me any problems

and no.  Not a risk for HIV at all.

Have you ever had actual cold sores on your lips?  The big, ugly ones that blister and take about 7 days to clear (with no meds)?

I ask because that would likely mean you have HSV1 already - most of us do.  If you have HSV1 then the odds of your becoming infected with any form of HSV through receptive oral is RARE.

Peppermint huh?  Interesting description there.
