Perplexing situation

Hello,

I had unprotected sex about 9 months ago. About 3-4 weeks later I had little red bumps on my penis that would come and go. I promptly went to my physician who conducted an STI panel that was negative for HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis. Approximately two months after the sexual encounter, I followed up with that same physician, which he then ordered a HSV 2 IGG, HERPESELECT TYPE SPECIFIC AB and HSV1/2 AB (IGM) which both came back negative. The doctors then referred me to a dermatologist who performed a biopsy on the lesion and found it to be lichen planus. I am only concerned because six months later I had symptoms that again mimicked an HSV2 outbreak, except this time more closely. At this time, I am wondering if I have it or not as the HSV2 IgG AB test were negative but yet it still seems like I had symptoms. I have taken precautions as if I have contracted it but I am unsure of what to do next? Should I perform another blood test or simply await another outbreak (if and when it occurs)? I appreciate the responses on this forum and thank you for taking the time to read this post.

Hi, your test confirms you dont have herpes. Testing 3-4 months post exposure would be conclusive and no need in further testing.
