I'm a 27 year old male, I engaged in mutual unprotected oral sex with a female partner 9 weeks ago. Within a week of the encounter I started to experience urethral discomfort, followed within a few days by itching and tingling around my genital region, and a short-lived pain in my right testicle. In the intervening weeks I have noticed a few tiny red/white lumps in my crotch, which haven't been painful to touch but have broken open after a few days. No noticeable lumps/sores on the head or shaft of my penis, but the skin on the head has occasionally been red or dry. I have experienced an excessive need to urinate since the incident. I have also been quite sick with a flu-type illness, night sweats and swollen lymph nodes etc. I have been treated with azithromycin, acyclovir, fluconazole and nothing seems to reduce the discomfort. I also seem to have a persistent white film on my tongue. Been tested for all STIs but nothing has come back positive. I did have one of the lumps swabbed for a herpes test but it wasn't open at the time. All doctors I have seen have said that herpes is very unlikely to manifest solely in the urethra without lesions on my penis, and that herpes wouldn't cause pain for such an extended period. They have also said the bumps don't look at all like herpes. However, the constant tingling around my testicles and tender nature of my pelvic area has me very concerned, along with the constant urethra pain.
Thinking back, over the past year I have experienced most of these symptoms but to a much lesser degree. Is it possible that I have somehow caught something that has compromised my immune system, leading to a mild herpes outbreak/oral thrush/general sickness?
I have been tested negative for HIV at the 9 week mark with a DUO test, and am confident that this is not the problem.
I'd really appreciate any insight, particularly into the potential compromised immune system. I'm pretty much going insane over here.
Many thanks
