Possible transmission by hand.

First off I'd like to thank you in advance for responding to my question.  I know your very busy. I'm a male who approximately 3 weeks ago I had a sexual encounter.  This involved me manually stimulating her with my fingers for about 10-15 minutes.  During that time I also touched my genitals a few times and then again while applying the condom.  Actual intercourse was probably only about 30 seconds after which I decided to stop out of fear not really knowing the female.  Approximately two weeks later I noticed two very small bumps under the rim of the penis head.  They itched for a couple of days.  They are still present but after using some hydrocortisone cream the itching is mile to  virtually non- existent.  My question is could it be possible that she had an active herpes infection and when I touched myself the herpes infection could have been transmitted to me?  I have not been tested yet and from what I've read you need to wait a few months after the encounter. I know your advice will be get tested which I most definitely will but in the meantime I'm asking for your professional advice on the percentages that I could have acquired herpes in the manner I've listed above.  I've read some that say yes and some that say no.  I didn't look for any signs of herpes on the female and obviously wouldn't know if she had anything active inside her.  Could you also please clarify if there must be some friction during skin to skin contact in order for the virus to be transmitted?  She provided the condom so I'm also not sure if it was latex as they say lambskin doesn't provide a barrier for STD's.  Thanks again for everything.

Grace,  Thanks so much for the reassurance. Both bumps are about the size of a pin head.  I believe they are very small pimples from being in a swim suit two days in a row at the lake.  I'm quite sure my brain was making me acutely of every sensation and blemish after the encounter.  I'm very happy to have stumbled across this website.  Thanks for the response and all your hard work.  Best Regards.

you weren't at risk for genital herpes from this encounter.  even though protected sex isn't 100% protection against hsv2 transmission, the brevity of your encounter makes it not likely at all it was transmitted. you also wouldn't have herpes on your hands to transfer to yourself while applying the condom either.

very doubtful she used anything but a latex condom.
