Please help, I’m going crazy with worry. I recently had a trip to Thailand where I visited a massage place. I got a “body to body” massage, which means the lady is naked while she massages you and rubs herself on you. I made sure that I didn’t have my private parts touch hers. The only time that real contact happened was when she massaged my back and her vagina was rubbing against my lower back. I didn’t have intercourse or oral sex.
So, about 2 weeks later I noticed I have a red rash in my bum crack, stretching all the way from my upper bum cheeks to just blow my anus. My anus is also red. There are no blisters though. I went to a doctor who said it looks like a fungal infection, but he can’t say for sure whether it’s not herpes. He said it spreads easily. He gave me some anti-fungal cream and I’ve been using it for almost a week now. I think it’s starting to get a little better. It’s not painful, but it burns a little and itches sometimes (even where there’s no redness). A week before I noticed the rash there was about 2 or 3 nights that I woke up sweating, but I was back to sleep within 30 mins feeling fine again.
I also had faint head aches a couples of times, but only for a few minutes. I don’t really get head aches. My legs also felt a bit stiff a couple of times, but nothing too bad. I just thought that maybe it was from walking a lot, because I haven’t really exercised that much recently. I read these might be symptoms of having herpes, hence the worry. The doctor also said the HSV 1 virus (which I have) might make me more resistant to the 2 virus – is this true? I also read that anti-biotic medication might cause a fungal infection – might it be this?
Can someone please tell me whether I should be worried that there’s a chance this might be herpes. I have so many questions. Feels like my sexual education was totally inadequate.
Does a herpes rash always have blisters? If it starts out as a rash, how long before blisters appear? It’s really hot it Thailand and I sweat a lot – will this also help a fungal infection to grow.
Before the last encounter in the massage place, I had myself tested for everything and tested negative for it all.
