recurrences

I wonder if anybody has had these symptoms before a recurrence:  headache, slight fever, difficulty choosing correct words, mental confusion and the inability to stay awake. ( I don't have other concerns because I am much older than most of you and have been married a long time.)

I have hunted all over the internet for more info  and  found a JAMA article which confirmed that some people do have these symptoms with recurrences.

That is a very interesting thought.  I truly believed the herpes itself brought on the outbreak.  A number of years back I had a DX of benign MS. when I had the same symptoms; however my neurologist at the time sent me to an MS specialist and she said that I didn't have it.   I don't go to a neurologist anymore.  I do wonder if zovarax or valtrex may stop those symptoms as it is very difficult to work with them.  Someone else also said what you said.  The fact that 2 people have told me this makes me believe it is possible.

The body related symptoms you describe often proceed my outbreaks. I'm pretty confident for me that it's those symptoms that contribute to the outbreak independently and not integrated with the herpes recurrence.

Herpes seems to rarely act alone with these sorts of things, but it does in rarer cases seem to mutually reinforce some other conditions.

Hence there may be another true source of your condition that causes outbreaks due to immune system stress or herpes is working in tandem with a condition.
