What is the reference range of IGG for herpes?

Hi Grace
I read that the following
Herpes IGG test:
Due to some studies that have been done, there is now a recommendation from a number of experts to change the reference ranges on this test. Basically, the experts are saying that only results of 3.5 or above should be considered positive. Below that is either in the equivocal or negative ranges.

How much true is that? If possible can you provide any information regarding this to prove its correct or wrong? Please

it depends on the test they have done. the range differs from test brand to test brand. this is part of why I have asked you to not try to interpret hsv blood test results when people post them. there's a lot more to it than just saying anything over 1.1 is + and that low positives need further testing.  takes a bit of education to be able to look at the whole situation and know which test was done etc.

they are currently running a research study to see if the ranges should be changed but it's still not going to change a lot for most folks in general.
