Trying to understand my test results.

Basically I posted a question a while ago here about my results and I tested again after and they came back negative. I'm just still caught up on one part. On my first round of results I had an combined HSV 1/2 IGG-ARUP where it put me in the 2.18 positive range. Then my next test was a igm combined (which I've been told is garbage) the combined results of that was a .98 equivocal. But in that same blood they tested for hsv-2 after the first two tests and I came back negative. .31 Then went back two weeks later to re test and they did igg for hsv 1 and hsv 2 separate. Both came back low negative .28 or less. So I don't quite understand what's going on.... does that mean I'm herpes free? The first set of tests were almost two months after I last had protected sex. And then I took the next two tests two weeks later. I don't understand how that combined test got so high but all my separate igg tests were so low?

False low possitives are not uncommon. Anything lower than a 3.5 needs conformation testing. Yes igm tests are useless. If your recent test was at least 12 weeks post exposure than I would definitely say you don't have hsv
