transmition of g-hsv1

Hi I tested positive for hsv1 and suspect it might be genital. I wanted to know the chances of passing it on a future girlfriend  genitally (assuming she's negative). The issue is that I noticed a rash of pimples at the middle of the shaft about a month ago (primary outbreak) and wanted to know if it can still be passed asymptomatically through areas not covered by a condom eg the base of the penis etc even though the initial outbreak did not occur there.
