herpes

BACKGROUND
Im a 17 year old who has had cold sores my whole life. According to my mother I first had an outbreak in kindergarden, and have been getting them ever since. I usually have 3-5 a year. A week ago I had an outbreak, and had a cold sore on my lower lip - no big del, its normal for me. But now, I believe I might have given myself a cold sore on the outside of my gentiles (crotch, in-between my legs area). I am fairly worked up, and have a couple questions. Ive only had 1 sexual parter, who has been checked for STDs, and i have not been active for the last month or so. I am 100% positive that I gave this cold sore to myself.

QUESTIONS
- Will I now begin getting Cold Sores on my genitals, similar to how I have them on my lips?
- Am i still infected with type1? (I thought that could only infect the lips)
- Should I be worried?

Hello Life360, I'm sorry, but does that mean I will now get cold sores on my genitals on a regular basis, as do I on my lips?

Hi, once a person has it in one area they are basicly immune to getting the same type in the genital area but the bottom line is you cant give it to yourself like your describing.
