no patience

Hello, I am 26 years old and had a new relationship recently.
A month before I had an outbreak of herpes, at least this is what the doctors diagnose, I had several kind of small wounds that were not bleeding in the genital area and swelled lymphs that still persist, I took valtrex for 13 days and don't have the blisters any more. I did a blood test for the std and were all negative even herpes.I already took a second one and I am waiting the results soon, so did my boyfriend. I really trust him and don't thing he passed it on me if it is herpes eventually. I am afraid though that this came from my ex boyfriend with who I had unprotected sex at the end of December.
I know the test for herpes can sort of show if you carry the disease for long or not. Is it possible to understand who passed it to me? I mostly need to know what the IGg means and what's the difference with IGM is it possible the values to show me what happened?

An igg blood test will tell you which herpes virus you have been infected with i.e. HSV1 and/or HSV2. If herpes did not show up in your igg blood test then it is a recent infection, i.e. probably less than 4 months. Usually the primary outbreak occurs in 2 days up to 3 weeks. This should help you narrow it down. Ignore IGM. It is an antiquated and pretty useless test.
