odds are this isn't hsv1 genitally. it tends not to reoccur this often.
have you also been tested for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally? also is this starting before or after your period?
grace
This is always about 1 week after my period. I'm on oral contraceptives and am not sure if that makes a difference. The doctor did not seem to think it was a yeast or bacterial infection.
did they properly test you for yeast and bacterial infections vaginally or just do a looksee and decide it wasn't vaginitis?
this could even be a reaction to a product you use during your period. even if it's one you've been using for years, they constantly change their ingredients.
They just did a looksee. The clinician at planned parenthood said that if it was irritation or something it would have looked more uniform. The outbreak usually lasts about 3-5 days. The redness usually lasts 1-2.
such a shame that they didn't do a proper test for vaginitis on you. takes only a few minutes of their time.
continue to follow up on this. insist that they do proper testing the next time.
Thanks Grace! I want to wait until I get my herpes result next week. I'm pretty terrified that I have it. If by some miracle I'm negative, I'll pursue the other options.
