As an adult female, a primary genital HSV1 infection is usually unmistakeable, you wouldn't be left wondering. Overwhelmingly the odds are you have an oral infection.
Quick question I did not know you could get hsv 1 in the gential area is this rare? Since I have hsv 1 and do not know where it's located could this be what is wrong with me he only went down on my orally for a min or two I didn't see a cold soar but he has facial hair. I went to the doctor but she didn't see anything could my lesions have been healed up and I was just having irritation that was left over from the outbreak?
It will probably say <0.90, is that right? If not then the lab may report negatives as 0.90 to avoid any confusion with the normal movement of negative values between tests.
Also does anyone know what the index value means is .90 high I'm so confused
The company just email you test results, the index was 5.00 for hsv 1 which was postive and hsv2 .90 which is negative. It's been 8 months since my possible exposure can I now put this all behind me!
They'd be distinctive most likely, the typical experience is that they itch quite badly given the location.
I would know if I had lesions correct? They would be painful correct? Sorry to be a pain I'm just scared about my results coming back tomorrow and just want to make sure I'm correct in my information.
HSV2 wasn't really a risk genitally, so yes your testing is conclusive I would suggest along with no lesions.
I guess my question is was my 90 day igg accurate in my negative in hsv 2? I've read I should have waited longer and then some say my 12 weeks was fine? I would know if i had lesions correct? There is no pain or burning when I pee. Would the lesions be painful? Thank you very much also for answering my questions
You really need lesions to have a suspicion of herpes. Other symptoms are usually only present when lesions are (or not related to herpes at all).
Your testing has confirmed you have HSV1, which is good as it means little chance of genital HSV1 if at all and no HSV2.
