what can you get from the river?
a long long time ago my mother saved someone in a flooded river in australia. she caught something which caused her to have various operations, her hair thinned considerably, i suspect she may have developed some kind of brain function thing too. what does the doctor think this illness might have been? my mother has long passed now heart attack and old age. thank you.

Sorry about your mother. That is too bad what happened. It could be a lot of things. There are some bacteria that you can get and parasites. At this stage there isn't much you can find out. Did you ask the doctor what caused her to have all this at the time? You might be able to get her medical records. They may have done some testing and found something.
