I was dx hypothyroid in Nov. 2017. The doctor put me on 100 mcg levothyroxine and when I was tested at 8 weeks, I was VERY hyperthyroid. Since then they've been reducing my meds every 6 to 7 weeks. I just began 25 mcg and my TSH before the new dosage was .222 so much better tho still hyper. T4 was still elevated.
I'm gaining weight and have swollen joints in my fingers. I can't wear my wedding band (it's wide) tho other rings are okay. Also, some days my ankles get puffy if I've been sitting for much of the day. I've gained about 20 lbs in the last year and am trying to eat healthy.
All other labs and vital signs are fine. Since I had cancer years ago, I have major blood work every 6 months.
I'm 67 and 5'1" and have never weighed more than 150 lbs until this last year. Also, I've never had any discomfort in my joints prior to the Levothyroxine overdosage.
Wondering if this will get better since the dosage is being lowered and also what I can do to lose this weight!!
