I have a red rough area between my butt cheeks which is sore when I clean it

This rough red area is between the cheeks of my bottom but not near my anus. I have put on weight in the last few years and found myself sweating in that area only. What can I do to get rid of this redness soreness.

Please help

Sure.  It's a hot, moist area where friction can occur.   There is something called intertrigo.  Things that help is getting it dry.  Dry it after a shower or bath.  Don't wear tight underwear.  I'd try a little gold bond powder or you can talk to your doctor and get a steroid cream.  Think of it as similar to diaper rash.  My sons are scouts and scouts get this on long camping trips.  They recommend the boys use a product called 'butt paste' but anything for diaper rash will work.  They call it a barrier cream and its probably your best shot at healing it. good luck

Thank you for replying. I only realised how red it was today as I don't normally look between my cheeks when I'm showering and drying myself.

I will keep it dry as much as possible and try diaper rash cream on it. Hopefully this will work.
