Myths about chickenpox and i wanna know the truth?

Recently i infected chickenpox. About 10 days ago. And here in sri lanka some believe that this sickness gives by god. So they just let the patient inside the house. And dont allow to bath untill 7 - 21 days. Because they believe sickness spread if someone bath before 7 days. Also some food controls. No oily foods can understand. But only white foods ?? I dont care about foods but these days are really hot in here. So i sweat all the day but doesnt allow to bath. Thats a big big problem. Please tell me anyone is there any truth on these myths or whatever.

Hi, and sorry to say those are myths. Chicken pox is spread if you have never had it. So it usually is spread to children who have never been exposed. But for example my husband who was 40 years old got it because he never had it as a child. So then he got it because someone who was a teacher at a school had not washed her hands and had it on her hands and clothes. She also may have been immune because she had it before but then she had carried it and spread it to others because she was around infected children.  So this is the way it is spread:

"The virus spreads easily from people with chickenpox to others who have never had the disease or been vaccinated. The virus spreads mainly by touching or breathing in the virus particles that come from chickenpox blisters, and possibly through tiny droplets from infected people that get into the air after they breathe or talk", for example.

So usually as an adult you have already been infected with it as a child and your parents know you had it by the way it looks and they can tell you if you had it. Once you have had it you can't get it again. But you can later in your 50's or older get Shingles. Shingles is not chicken pox it is Varicella zoster. It is another virus you get when you have had chicken pox and when you get old your immune system gets less active and so you can get that disease because you had chicken pox. It is another story. Lets just stay with the one disease for now so you don't get mixed up.
A person with chickenpox can spread the disease from 1 to 2 days before they get the rash until all their chickenpox blisters have formed scabs (usually 5-7 days).A person with chickenpox can spread the disease from 1 to 2 days before they get the rash until all their chickenpox blisters have formed scabs (usually 5-7 days).

Here is a link to show you what I have said.

So if your parents are still around they should know what the chicken pox look like and If you had it also a doctor would know what it looks like.

But, it doesn't matter what you eat or whether you bath or not as long as no one gets in the same water if you have chicken pox and if you don't wear their clothes. That is probably where that came from.
So don't go near anyone with chicken pox for the time frame I mentioned above. Use bleach or throw away their clothes and I wouldn't share the same food or eating utensils with them during the infective stage. Maybe use disposable things. Isolate them in a room until it is gone (all blisters become scabs) I would wait a while with that.

So if adults know they have had this they can help the person that has it. They won't get it again.

There are blood tests to check to see if you are immune to it.

Take care,
