Recent or Reactivation?

I had my first sexual contact ever then things got worse over time. After two months of symptoms (I will spare you the long list of symptoms) some were like on and off others continued I got tested for EBV antibodies which came negative. Then I got the worst sore throat ever (tonsillitis with pus on them). I was retested for EBV antibodies which this time came positive. The sore throat lasted for more than two weeks.

Test results:
EBV VCA IgM positive 180
EBV VCA IgG positive 42

I asked my doctor for CD4 and CD8 (I am HIV negative)
CD4: 22.6 LOW (normal range 38.27 - 56.47)
CD8: 36.1 HIGH (normal range 23 - 35)

Can these result be an indication of (whether this is a new infection or a reactivation) ?

I think you did have mono even though you didn't get the other lab work. You had the symptoms sore throat , fever, swollen lymph nodes. It takes about 2 months for the lymph nodes to go down.

The eye tick and burning sensation and pimples may be due to anxiety.

Have you been cultured for the folliculitis? If so you can treat it with topical triple antibiotic ointment. I wouldn't put it all over your body at once. Try a few areas for a week and see if it works. Wash you hands and anything it comes in contact with well after touching it.  If you haven't had a doctor diagnose it you may want to because sometimes you have both dermatitis and folliculitis at the same time. Then you may have to trade off the antibiotic with a steroid ointment (prescription).

Also, headache and the burning pain can also be neurological. So if it continues you may want to see a neurologist.

Gingivitis you should see your dentist for.

Actually a stupid thing from them is that they didn't test me for EA or EBNA...

Now what confuses me is that after my sexual contact I started to get these weird symptoms that are so random which I think are not related to mono plus I only got the sore throat with the white patches (of mono) recently which I guess it should have been one of the earliest signs (if the other symptoms were related to mono)...

Sure I've been called hypochondriac, told I have anxiety (sure I have anxiety now but only as a result of this mysterious thing)

I'm asking if this was a reactivation of ebv because my first symptom was (6-7) cold sores on my lips (something reactivated HSV-1 that I guess I got in my childhood)

Anyway these weird random symptoms are:

herpes outbreak

in general:
*swollen lymph nodes in the neck (and some shotty ones)
night sweats
fatigue
Hypersomnia and insomnia (taking turns ever once in a while)
random/ moving pain in muscles and joints

skin abnormalities:
*folliculitis (on arms and chest)
*severe acne outbreak on my back
*wounds, bruises (and pimples) take a long time to heal (and the leave a mark/spot once when they heal)
hives (that kept coming and going for one day)

mouth:
gingivitis
burning sensation (in tongue and gums)

neurologically:
*burning sensation in random places of my body
*an odd kind of headache
*twitching in muscle and in my eyelid
brain fog
*anxiety

The ones that I'm still dealing with are marked (*) the others are gone.

since the beginning of the symptoms I did a lot of tests -that showed normal readings (except when I had my sore throat from mono which happened recently)

I don't know what to do next. but one thing for sure I'm gonna see a dermatologist and a neurologist.

What's your suggestion/ comment mkh9?

Hi, This looks like a new infection. Was your early antigen also positive by the nuclear antigen (EBNA) negative?
