p.s. not all cases are serious but since it has taken three weeks already and she is still not feeling well that is why I say to maybe either take her back to the doctor or to watch her. Some cases resolve in a few days some take months. So you have to monitor her. Is she diabetic? Usually, that is type B4 though. Just curious was she around chimpanzees or went to the zoo? There have been some cases where people got it that way. Other ways are food handlers, or swimming etc. and water contaminated with it. It could be some other way though.

Hi and sorry your mother has been exposed to this virus. Is she getting worse or the same? It can take a long time to recover from this virus. Some time it takes a short time or a long time (months). I would watch to make sure she doesn't have chest pain or fever. If she gets worse take her back to the doctor or ER. It can be a bad virus so you /she has to take care to watch out for signs that lead to meningitis, blood infections and heart issues. Hopefully, it will pass and she will get stronger. What did the doctor say about her situation so far?
