Mucus after wiping after bowel movement

Hello everyone! I've been noticing small amounts of mucus on toilet paper after I wipe since August. There's not a lot of it, but still, its presense concerns me. I cannot tell whether its an everyday thing for me or not, it may disapper for a week and then apper again. I haven't had any changes in my bowel habits, I don't have any pains and I've never noticed mucus in or on my stool.
Can it be a symptom of polyps or of something even worse? Is it a normal thing?
I am an every anxious person, especially when it comes to my health.

Hello feontarl. It's been a while since you posted this and am wondering if there is any update. You can always mention this on your next physical or doctor's appointment. Most stool has some mucus in it. A small amount is normal. Perhaps it was there and you hadn't noticed previously. Is your stool normal otherwise? If it increased and there is anything like any bleeding or bowel habit change, then make an actual appointment to discuss. Ulcerative colitis then may be at play. Maybe i've had it before but never noticed. There's also really small amounts of it but noticable.
