Is it IBS?

So a week ago from today is started developing symptoms of nausea and pain in my stomach. As someone who was diagnosed with gastritis, I thought it was just a symptom and I switched over to my more bland diet to try to soothe my stomach. At the same time I was having painful bowel movements but I didn't think much of it until I woke up two days later feeling sick to my stomach and like I had to pass a bowel movement. I tried but I wasn't able to. So I bought some magnesium citrate and layed low for the day, dealing with stomach/abdomen pain. The magnesium citrate was successful in emptying me, but symptoms of constipation have persisted days after. I have a small bowel movement (usually narrow or small Yellow like stools) in the morning, and then the rest of the day is followed by constipation. I have noticed yogurt seems to help a bit. My doctor put me on benefiber but that's not really working. My mom seems to think it's IBS because it runs in our family, but I usually have very healthy bowel movements. This is completely out of the blue, and I'm not sure if it's because I've been stressed and not eating as much lately or if it's because I was eating so terribly on the weekends (lots of fats).

It happens to me when I'm eating too little or too little healthy carbs
