shapes of lumps?

me again.. the lump i had removed from my thyroid was more of a rectangle shape.going left to rite across thyroid.felt like a hand around my neck..does the shape of the lump make a difrence..i just paid for the ultrasound my self be cause doctors didnt beleave me..thanx

hi,thanx for your insight.ive had 4 removed groin,cevix which cost me a radical hystirectomy. sory about the medical spelling..lol..i dont really know what was removed with left side of thyroid.just felt presseure across the front of my throat.like someones hand around my neck..thanx..

Shape can matter for a lymph node. They are bean shaped, but seem roundish if you feel them. However, if they get very long (elliptical), that might indicate something bad.

But you are talking about a nodule on your thyroid, which is not the same as a node. My guess is that the shape there doesn't matter. Maybe bluebird knows more.
