It's not virginia but Dr. Mark Sivieri in Laurel, Maryland is supposed to be excellent. I recently started seeing him and so far so good (but since it's early and I'm not yet completely fixed I can't give my own personal recommendation to how great he is). He has offices elsewhere in Maryland and I think some of them are close to DC/VA. I should note that he's really hard to get an appointment with, but it's worth a try and he has a nurse assistant who can usually take people sooner and she knows all of the basics and consults with him. His office also might be able to recommend someone. Good luck!
I have seen a lot of folks in VA asking for LLMDs. Please look into The Jemsek Specialty clinic in DC. www.jemsekspecialty.com - that is where I am currently being treated for Lyme.
I live in VA too and I am also looking for an LLMD in VA! Please send me a message if you find one and I will do the same for you! Thank you!
oops, I thought I posted a reply last night, but it didn't 'take', I guess.
Because Lyme drs are sometimes harrassed by the state medical authorities in various states, many of them don't want publicity.
Here are some websites that have or at least used to have referral functions where you can send them an email and they can give you a name of a local Lyme doc:
lymediseaseassociation [dot] org
truthaboutlymedisease [dot] com
lymenet [dot] org
chroniclymedisease [dot] com
Also try this: ilads [dot] org -- they used to have a doc referral function may not any longer.
Also just google/search "LLMD [Houston]" or other useful regional descriptor and see what you get.
And, others here may send you a 'private message' through this website if they have suggestions. It will show up in your inbox, which is linked at the top right of this screen.
Best wishes! Let us know how you do, okay?
