I hope your tests are definitive, or at least suggestive of Lyme.  I don't think there are any mainstream doctors out there who will make a clinical diagnosis of Lyme with negative tests. It has just been drummed into them to follow the tests, and to even question positives.

If your tests are completely negative, then it's time for an LLMD who knows how to make a clinical diagnoses. The fact that you feel better with antibiotics is a big sign. Hopefully, since you were on some earlier, that killed off some bugs and woke up the immune system to start making antibodies.

Hi, sorry you are going through all of this. I think it depends on the doctor. My LLMD was going away for 2 weeks and sent me my results before she left knowing how anxious I was. She had marked notes on there for me to explain abnormal results.
I agree with you, they work for you and they are your tests.
Good luck.

bad news bah! i am prepared for anything...ya think they were diagnosing HIV....

i have HIV and Hep C... i know about tests and bad news..i am a 50 year old woman who has delt with docs for 20+ years and as i said i need to take control.

i can only try.... to show up and perhaps get them or see the doc for 5 minutes.

wish me luck!

going to meet a girl in my area right now with Lyme. she seems very smart.

yeah..
my tests!
it is my info and they are working for /with me .. they blundered a few times. i need control.

i have no trust in docs since my traumatic experience  last fall and winter.
the wild goose chase must end. and unless i get my results they make me suffer. mentally. bad.. i can't take this much longer..

ps i had a good day. i actually walked with a non fatigue step,  down the block admiring the gardens. no ankle or knee pain!

Been on only plaquinil for  2 weeks and it is helping. no hunger though

got the itchies past few  days  tonight i  showered, rubbed with a vellour cloth well after and then used witch hazel on cotton make up pads.  up and down my arms and legs..felt great! took the itch away.
lotion only aggravates it.

then used my oli of olay facial creme on the wrists elbows and knees.. sweet .!! no itches.
up late didn't wake till noon but had an energizing day ! ABX work and i want axrithomycin  to add to plaquinil.

try that ofrceftin again.? i bet i have brats.  ha ha Barts. they are brats.

what do i do if the tests are negative. could my hiv and hep c mess up a lyme diagnosis.. i read no.

ya know this is just what i need .. every one is confused about me.  but i know ABX helps.. so it is not the virus!!

thanks

meeting a woman in the area w/ Lyme tomorrow. she did grad work with lyme  ilads vs IDsa   we may try to start a local support group. one existed years ago ..

here i go with the advocacy.. gotta resrve my energy now that i feel well cause i know there will be set backs.

thanks ladies you are terrific women!

I believe the doctor has to communicate the results. Mine will either call in the late afternoon, tell me at the next appointment, or review my results and then tell the staff they can give me the results. When my IGeneX results were coming in, she knew how anxious I was about it. She was going to be out of town when they were due, so she pre-authorized her staff to fax me the results.

You might ask the receptionist to ask the doctor if he'll allow you to see them before the appointment so you have a chance to think about it and to come in with questions. While you are entitled to your records, most doctors want to deliver test results themselves so a patient doesn't get overwhelmed with bad news or confusing results or something they don't understand without the doctor there to explain it.

Given what you have said about your doctor, I'll bet he makes you wait. :/

Not sure about whether you can insist that you get copies ahead of the appointment.  Whether or not the law says one way or the other, there may the an ethical thing that the doc is supposed to meet with you to go over the results, but I dunno.

I think your point about wanting to have copies ahead of time to review so you are up to speed is a good one.  Go for it!  (The receptionist may be clueless, or may be wrong even if not clueless.)

My position always has been:  I paid for it, gimme the copies.  But that's me.  :)
