NatCapLyme.org

I just read a post that reminded of this organization and one I almost had pushed to the back of my mind.

http://www.natcaplyme.org/lyme-topics/the-story-of-lyme-disease.html

The link above has a good overview and is worth reading if you're new to Lyme.

I was part of NatCapLyme while I lived in the area.  In 2009 (I think it was that year?) I even "ran" (ok, slow jogged) in a Lyme5K event they helped sponsor.  I had never done a 5k in my life, and I was actually still very sick at the time.  I did it to prove to myself that I wasn't just lazy or depressed, as so many doctors suggested when they couldn't diagnose me.  It also was showing that, even though being sick made everything harder, I could still do what I put my mind to if I tried hard enough!

Since I am from the DC area, I am still active in this great group. They are really doing a lot to keep Lyme in the spotlight.
