13 strains

I just read in Discover Magazine that scientists have published the sequence of 13 strains of Borrelia burgdorferi the bacterium that causes Lyme disease  "Different strains have different capacity to cause disease"
This may help scientists to develop tests for the different strains or stages of the disease.
I have a friend who fits the symptoms and her occupation for 25 yrs has been a dog groomer.  She has been unsuccessful in her diagnosis and is really suffering with fatigue, equalibrium, anxiety, weakness, out of the blue
good luck to you all, I hope you meet her on the posts soon.

Thank you for that information -- I hadn't seen that article.  Given that there are apparently hundreds of strains of Lyme, at least the scientists are getting a start!

I hope your friend find some relief soon.  Thanks for posting.
