Relapse or after-effects?

I was hospitalized for babesiosis from July 23-August 7 this year. Had blood transfusions, extremely aggressive oral and IV antibiotic course, the whole nine yards.  Have an excellent bill of health now, including all labs. I've had chronic neck and joint pain for nearly a month. Do not test positive for Lyme (never did) nor babesiosis (obviously did). Does anyone know if this could possibly be residual arthritis? Have tried every possible thing to get rid of it but nothing works. Worst at night; cannot seem to find comfortable sleep position. Thanks.

You might like to try te F-Scan with DIRP from Switzerland because it will cope with the changing phenotypes of the various infections.

I was also hospitalized with Babesia and had the blood transfusions. It is possible that you do still have Lyme because the testing often comes back false negative. Lyme requires different Meds than Babesia. You could also have a different co-infection. I have Lyme and 3 co-infections.

Oh my you have been through the wringer!  Your doc sounds very thorough, so I assume he tested you for other likely co-infections?

After I was treated for Lyme and babesia, it took me several months to feel even reasonably normal again.  I was a little achy and worn out, often tired, like I had aged ten years.  I didn't realize it at the time, but once I did feel better, I could really tell the difference.  Everyone is different, tho.

After about six months post-treatment, I was feeling okay, and it took a while even after that even before I was back to my old self.  I didn't think about it much, because I knew I was gradually getting better, and then ... I was there, back to the old me -- finally.

Do talk with your doc about how you are feeling.  There may be something s/he can suggest.  Congratulations on kicking the bugz!  Good for you.
