Why is there random, sudden tingling in my penis?

Hi, I'm 13 and on a fairly regular basis - every few days to daily - my penis randomly becomes very firm and starts to tingle. It is not a small tingling sensation, in fact it is quite a big one. I am not sure why this happens,
Thanks for your replies.

I agree that it could be erections.

Here's some info for you - (some of these sites have illustrations and are probably not safe to open at school or around others. They are only educational, though - they aren't sexually graphic.)

I'm guessing this is an erection happening.  Talk to your dad about it. Or a trusted male.
