miscarriage questions

Can someone explain to me the basics of a miscarriage?  how long would it take? is it as painful as labor pains?  if it happens should I go to the hospital? or to the doc for ultrasound?

I'm 10 weeks and getting some spotting on and off, and cramps (sometimes bad) in the morning. But also morning sickness which is a good sign, right?

Maybe just paranoid. Been extremely stressed, my bf is -not- warmly welcoming this unplanned pregnancy and things have been extremely emotionally draining for me. I'm afraid I'm hurting the baby.

Please try not to be so stressed and just enjoy your pg for what it is - the creation of new life.  Everybodies m/c is different, but that should be the farthest thing from your mind, unless your dr has given you reason for concern.  If you do have symptoms that are concerning, first call your ob/gyn.  Even if the office isn't open, there should be a dr on call.  If you are really concerned, then by all means go to an Urgent Care or ER.  Trust your body and you will know in your heart if things seem right or not.

Congrats on your pregnancy. Although it is not the best thing to be stressed out during pregnancy I have known pregnant women in terrible situations and stress go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies. Have you been to a dr. yet? Morning sickness is a good sign that your hormones are doing what they're supposed to. And no they are not as bad as labor pains unless you are further along. It can hurt really bad though.
It is normal for some women to have some spotting and cramping as your baby begins to grow. I'll keep you and your baby in my thoughts. We are all here for you anytime so feel free to post or send a message whenever.
