Am in the beginning stages of a miscarriage

I am 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant.  Has been an easy ride until this morning.  I went to the bathroom to discover blood in my urine and when i wiped(red).  After an hour or so it turned to brown and not as much.  As the morning as progressed it has had a little tissue in the toilet as well.  The blood has seemed to stop for the most part but has gone on for 4 hours.  I am wanting to know if this is the beginning of a miscarriage?  Or is it possible to go on and have a healthy pregnancy?

Thanks!

Thanks for all your comments & so sorry for you ladies who miscarried.  My husband and myself have been trying for 10 years to have a baby, so i am anxious and hoping i can carry it full term.  As of Today, i haven't had any red blood or spotting.  I do have my usual cramps which i have had on and off duirng the whole pregnancy.  I do have a question, i took a tylenol Sunday night, before the whole bleeding fiasco on Monday morning.  The tylenol had codeine and caffeine in it but i didn't know until Monday morning.  Is there a possibility since it wasn't a regular tylenol it could have caused some bleeding?

Thanks Everyone!

i just completed my miscarriage today. according to last period date i was 6 weeks 3 days, but started light spotting 6 days ago and immediately started doctoring. They said it could be normal, monitor and come back. it started to worsen two days later, getting redder. so i went back, they did a urine pregnancy test and checked my cervix. positive test and closed cervix so doctor still not very worried, but set up a ultrasound appointment. in the days to follow i started to not feel pregnant, lost the tender breast and other symptoms that i was experiencing. Doctor kept saying if there is no cramping and no clots you should be okay. Went to the ultrasound this morning, they couldn't find any sign of pregnacy, but thought i might be too early, said i should get a blood preganancy test to test hormones. so off i went, the doctor i saw was very reassuring that because i wasn't having any cramps or clotting that i could be okay. got the blood work done, have to repeat in 3 days to test changing levels. but about an hour after i was urinating and passed a large-ish tissue like mass, that i think was the sac. then an hour later passed a bean like clot. positive i have miscarried - no cramping at all, but the bleeding is already slowing down - and it wasn't heavy to begin with. mostly just when i wiped and the last day a bit of trace on a panty liner.

I'm so sorry you are going through this.  I am in exactly the same boat as you.  As the other ladies said, bleeding during early pregnancy doesn't necessarily mean a miscarriage, but for me it did.  Please go and see your doctor asap.  The ER will also see you if you can't get to your OB.  Although, I'm sure the OB will find some time to fit you in for an ultrasound if you are worried and you're having some spotting.  I started spotting last night and called the OB's office this morning.  I am supposed to be 10 1/2 weeks as of today.  They did an ultrasound and unfortunately we did not see a heartbeat.  The baby only measured 8 w 3 d.  The last time I saw a heartbeat was at 8 w 0 d.  I am scheduled for a D&C on Thursday.  It was a pretty rotten day for me today, however I do wish you the best.

Some women do bleed during their pregnancies. Either way you should call your OB right away or just go to the ER. It is definitely a cause for alarm!! Good luck to you

hi , first of all i'd like to say sorry you're going through this, pregnancy is a very worrying time. i have had 6 missed misscarriages and have got two healthy little girls aged 3 and 5. in all of my pregnancies i bled, even the healthy babies didn't give me an easy ride. but the fact is they ARE here and they ARE healthy. with my eldest daughter the bleeding and cramps were actually very bad but she hung on in there, she is just as stubborn to this day  :-)   i did my best to just rest as much as i could and it seemed to do the trick!!!

bleeding in early pregnancy is actually very common so don't immediately think the worse. go to your local accident and emergency department if you're worried or if the bleeding/pain gets any worse. you should be referred for an emergency scan which is a great reassurance.  i wish you well and i'll keep my fingers crossed for you and your baby that all will be fine. x

You should be fine... it could be nothing but old blood from the linen of the uterus .. if you are in pain like cramping really bad and alot of blood then it would be best to see your doc, but don't set off any alarms b/c based on what you have said so far it seems you are fine.. so i hope everything goes well through out your pregnancy and that you have a healthy beautiful baby.. best of luck!
