Getting pregnant? No problem! Staying pregnant? Huge problem!

I'm at my witt's end! I have 2 healthy girls that are almost 6 & 8. Wasn't trying, wasn't even all that healthy, but no problems at all!

Now that I'm actually looking after myself and TTC we have absolutely no problem getting pregnant, but I just can't keep them. 1st M/C was in June at 5 wks ish, 2nd right away in July at 4 wks, and now another started yesterday at 4w3d. Is anyone else going through this, or previously gone through this? I've done everything I can do - quit smoking, rarely drink anymore, vitamins, teeny bit of caffeine, not focusing on trying but just letting it happen, then no sex even in the 2 ww! It's all great until about a week after my BFP and I just suddenly lose them. I've heard it could possibly be my progesterone not getting high enough after ovulation?

I see my doctor later today, I'm just hoping to have some ideas to talk to her about so she doesn't just send me on my way like I have bad luck. Any ideas would be much appreciated! Thank you ladies! :)

Thanks Leighanne - I left a msg for my doctor yesterday because I want to talk to her about the progesterone. I've talked to a few people that start it right after they ovulate, like you, and other that started after their BFP. That just doesn't make sense to me because there's a good chance it could be too late right? Just the way I figure it anyway. Well I hope we have your luck with how easy it is!

Dani - I truly cannot imagine going through what you did! I have no words! And like you say - going to that clinic where so many women choose to abort their babies, while you so badly wanted yours but had no choice...I just can't imagine getting over that. I would have a really really hard time accepting the doctors thoughts and going through with that. Boy, I'm sorry, that just tears me up. :( That's wonderful that your husband was there to support you though.
Well I hope this week flies by for you! I also have no patience for waiting to test! I have spent a fortune on FRER's which have always done me well, but doesn't help a baby stick. My DP has no idea how many I've bought - he'd have a bird! lol He has no idea how impatient I am, I think I just end up grumpy instead. :(
Let me know what happens - this last pregnancy I had absolutely no symptoms at all, while I've had crazy symptoms before, so you never know.
I'm just waiting for my doc to call me as I'd like to talk to her a bit more about progesterone. Our next step is getting an ultrasound set up, but they mail you the info with your appointment date because it is not urgent. That's why I want to talk to her about the meds, to see if we can try them this go around to see if they work rather than waiting for all this testing that could take months. We'll see, I'll let you know!

Im hoping for "sticky babies"  I actaully m/c at 19, which at the time seems horrible to say now was a blessing.  I was very young and innocent and realizing the guy was not father material.  We stayed together 3 years, but i couldn't even have imaged having a baby then.  The drs. now say they do not see any reason why that would happen again, but then this happened with my baby.  Now i am wondering if there is a connection. I pray that the next one will be the little angle we hope for.  I can't even tell you what it is like to have to go to an actual abortion clinic because the state laws won't allow you to do it in the drs office.  How can the drs tell you there is no chance this baby will live, but I would continue to get bigger for who knows how long.  Then to have to go to a clinic like that.  My husband who is a big tough cowboy who has seen so many things on the ranch life said that he had never witnessed something so horrible.  i mean they kept me awake screaming with no pain meds.  (they forgot to give me anything)  We figure if god forbid something happens next time we will know further in advance or fly back to NY or some place that can be better.
Anyway, i still have a week to find out for sure if I am pregnant, but I give up trying to read my bodies signs and taking the early preg tests.  PATIENCE!  well i really don't have any for something I want SO bad.  I just got a new saddle that I had to get re-sewed (i have really short legs) and it was taking forever and my husband thought I was so impatient for that...but as the months pass waiting to the positive preg test I think he wants to tape my mouth shut!!!
Any news on the dr. yet?  Please keep me informed.  Good luck

no my doctor had me start the progesterone before we got the BFP.  what you do is you have to track your ovulation and right whne you get an ovulation surge, you of course baby dance and try to get pregnant, but three days after your surge, you start using the progesterone.  if you do not get your period when it is due, you test, if it's BFP, you keep going with the prog, if not you go into the doctors office for a blood draw.  prog cane delay your period so before you stop it, they want to make sure you are not pregnant.  it worked the first time with me.

Hi Leighanne - I've heard of many women who take baby aspirin and progesterone and it seemed to do the trick! I almost wish she'd start me on it, then check everything else after, just incase that's all it is. But I'm pretty sure she said that we wait until we get a BFP then start taking progesterone immediately. Did you do that? Something like your body produces a different hormone before you ovulate, and then progesterone after you conceive. I'm not too sure on that, I read something along those lines. Thanks though, and congrats!!

Hi Dani, yes that woman is a tough woman! She also had 5 kids, so she'd do pretty much anything with her last few! lol. Yep, as much as I love riding, I would much rather be comfy and spoil my my body when preggo!
I read your profile after and saw what you had to go through - I'm so sorry, that must be so hard. On the good side, atleast you can have sticky babies! I know 5 mths may not seem long to some, but I know how you feel. We're at 6 mths, 3 m/c's now. But like I said, I'm atleast glad I seem to be able to get pregnant fairly easily. Well haven't heard anything from the doc (she was going to call me yesterday) but there's really nothing urgent so I'm not gonna hound her quite yet! ;) I'll definately keep you posted!

Im glad you guys seemed to at least have an informative drs appointment and hopefully they will find some answers!  I hope it is something simple they can find and fix for you.
I am with you, after you go through something so hard, you never even want to take any chances if there is no reason to.  my friend rode as well far into the pregnancy and never thought anything of it, and it is probably fine for them, but a pack trip!  She must be tougher than me because if I were that far along, I know I would be wanting constant showers and a really comfortable bed...not a bed roll.
we have been trying to concieve again going on 5 months, I realize that may not seem like a while, but the whole ovulation thing is so not fun anymore.
Good luck and keep in touch I would love to know what the drs find!!!

sorry for your losses.  i had 2 missed MC's in 5 months.  i had to be seen at the fertility specialist who ran all the reccurent pregnancy loss testing and all came back normal.  but just in case he put me on progesterone and baby aspirin.  i am now 18 weeks along.  i would have all the testing done ASAP to make sure it is not something simple.

Hey, yes I do realize I am atleast lucky to be able to get pregnant, some people can't even make it that far! Well my dr appt was a good start - bloodwork, then off to a gyno after this m/c is done to see how everything is inside with a scope. Then an u/s if they don't find anything. And then we'll try some meds to see if it's just my hormones that aren't sustaining the pregnancies. Well, I'm glad we started somewhere!

About riding - I actually don't ride an awful lot anymore, as I moved to town because my kids are in school. But with my 1st I rode for a couple months, and I have a friend who rode (doing pack and hunt trips too!!) until she was 8 mths preggo! So I know alot of people that do, and it should be safe (as long as your horse doesn't spook or anything) unless your doc says otherwise. These days though I probably wouldn't chance it again myself. Just with my problems staying pregnant. Good luck! Have you been ttc for a while?

I don't have any answers from experience, but I do know my friend had multiple m/c between each of her kids because of a thin utirine lining.  She too has no trouble getting prego (you guys are at least lucky for that:)  but I guess your dr. appointment will tell you more.  Bad luck is not an answer.  I saw your name was northrncwgrl...do you still ride when you are pegnant?  Not that that has anything to do with it, I am just ttc and although the dr. said it is fine for a while, I have no intentions to do anything to lose this next child...i am so scared...let us know how the appointment went...good luck!
