At a loss

I woke up from my nap at three today to go to work and when I went to the bathroom I noticed bright red blood. I went to the er where I was told I could be having a miscarriage but it could just be normal bleeding. It was a lot and here it is almost twelve hours later and I'm still bleeding. We were told its a fifty fifty chance and my s/o is being very optimistic but I am prepared for the worst. I'm trying to help him cope while trying to help myself but what can I do when I can't stop crying. I feel horrible and I just keep telling him I'm sorry. He keeps saying it will be ok because we have a fighter. How can I get him to see everything may not be ok?

I passed the embryo about two hours ago but being the strong amazing man my s/o is he refuses to give up hope until the doctors tell us there is nothing left. This would have been my third baby but only my first miscarriage so we are both taking it pretty hard. Thank you for your words of advice.

Honey, don't try to get him to see that everything might not be OK.  He is trying to cheer you up and help you feel more hopeful, that is what a good man does.  Try not to argue with him or catastrophize.  Whether this has a sad ending or a happy one, time will tell.  Stay in bed, keep hydrated, call in sick so you don't have to be walking around.  Those things calm uterine contractions if they can be calmed.  Nothing will stop the loss of a pregnancy if it is missing something it needs, but if all you are having is a broken blood vessel, it might be irritated by uterine contractions, which can be caused by walking.  When the bleeding stops, see your regular ob-gyn and get an hCG test and an ultrasound.
