Pregnancy after a Miscarriage

I had my first u/s appointment on April 24th ~ I was 8 weeks ~ the doctor said that he saw a pregnancy in the uterus which was good ~ but he didn't see a heartbeat ~ he said that it was measuring the size of a 5 week fetus ~ so the baby stopped growing at 5 weeks ~ due to chromosome defect ~ he said a miscarriage was coming ~ but he told me to come in the following week for another u/s ~ well that night I had a miscarriage ~ I went back 2 days later to make sure that everything was gone ~ and it was ~ the doctor told me to wait one cycle before ttc ~ but I'm 37 years old and have had some fertility issues ~ this was my first pregnancy and I really don't want to wait ~ any suggestions?

Thanks ~ it has been hard to deal with because I wanted it so badly ~ but I have been going back and forth on what I should do ~ I have heard you are more fertile after a miscarriage and with my age, I just feel like my clock is ticking and I really want to have a baby before I'm 40 ~ so if it happens ~ hopefully it will be a better outcome ~ thanks again ~ I appreciate your response!!!

That's what I was thinking too ~ I think if I had to have a D&C then I should probably wait one cycle before ttc ~ that would be awesome to get pregnant again soon ~ I have been waiting for so long ~ and it has been really hard to deal with ~ but I am ready to start trying again ~ I appreciate your answer ~ Thanks so much!!!

Im sorry for your loss. I always thought they wanted you to wait to give your lining a chance to thicken up for better implantaion.  They say at least 2 cycles helps that. But I do hear you have a higher chance of getting pregnant right after a miscarriage. That choice is really up to you which way you want to go with that.

since it was a natural one, there really is no need to wait one cycle, you can start trying again straight away, plenty of women have fallen pregnant straight after a miscarriage before their  next period, the doc's usually say to wait so they can get an edd and to give you time to get over the miscarriage, but if you feel ready both physically and emotionally, go for it :)
