Reasons

Could a little bit of bleeding be a sign of a miscarriage at six weeks? Not like flowing bleeding but just enough to notice it. Could there be something else that would cause it? I have a feeling I already know the answer though. Just hoping I am wrong.

I JUST LOST MY BABY AT 9W2D A WEEK AGO TODAY AND IT ALL HAPPENED REALLY FAST...I STARTED SPOTTING AND CRAMPING, THEN WITHIN AN HOUR I STARTED BLEEDING PRETTY HEAVY AND THE CRAMPING GOT MORE INTENSE...THE NEXT THING I KNEW THAT EVENING I HAD LOST MY BABY.  I KNOW A LOT OF WOMEN THAT HAD A LITTLE BIT OF BLEEDING ESPECIALLY EARLY IN PREGNANCY, SO DON'T STRESS YOURSELF OUTSELF OUT UNLESS IT GETS WORSE.  IF I WAS YOU I WOULD CALL MY DR. AND THEN JUST TAKE IT EASY!  I WILL SAY A PRAYER FOR YOU AND YOUR LITTLE BABY...

If there's no cramping along with the bleeding I would think that it{hopefully} isn't as likely that it's a miscarriage, though I don't know that for sure.  I had bleeding in my first pregnancy for a couple reasons.  First, I have a bicoranate uterus{meaning there's two separate halves}, the baby was in one half, and the bleeding was coming from the other side because it wasn't getting as much hormone support as the side the baby was on.  So from time to time that side of my uterus would bleed, result in me frantically calling the nurse line! but eveything was okay :)  I also had a blood clot at the site of implantation which caused bleeding and I lost clots of blood as well with that; very scary, but again the baby was fine.  Eventually I did miscarry, but the doctor was leaning towards the reason being the baby had a chromosomal abnormality.  Good luck to you and I hope everything goes well!

30% of women will spot or have some bleeding during their first trimester.  50% of those will have normal pregnancies.  So, the reality is, yes it could be a sign of impending miscarriage, or it could be normal.  They don't really know for sure what causes it, but some reasons can be sex during pregnancy (doesn't cause miscarriage, just bleeding sometimes) as your cervix is more sensitive; your body getting rid of old blood, etc.  It is always best to call your Dr. and let him/her know.  They will most likely want to do an ultrasound.  In the meantime, try to take it easy and not panic.  Its pretty common, and doesn't always mean the worst.  Best of luck to you, I hope all turns out fine.

Some women do bleed a little.  My aunt actually had a little bleeding every month with both her children during her normal menstral time, as well as many other people i talked to.  when i told my dr. she didn't even have me come in.  I never actually had my child due to other problems with the develpment, but the spotting was never the cause.  Try not to panic until you see your dr.  Praying for you!!
