What to expect after D&C

I had a D&C on the 17th, i bled that one day. Then the 21st and 22nd i had severe pains that felt like contractions to me, it lasted 1hour and a half both days.  I passed a lot of clots and blood, dr said if not size of golf ball it was normal.  My question is, i thought after D&C you would not have to go threw that.  Was that normal, and has that happened to anyone else?

hi.  i am so sorry for your loss.  i had 2 MC's and 2 d and c's over a 5 month time span.  with my first d and c, i felt fine, only light spotting the day of and the day after.  a week later i got this major major cramp and literally gushed blood.  then again the same thing happened a few days later.  when i called the doctor what they said it was is that your uterus starts collapsing down back to normal size and pushes out whatever is left in there.  this did not happen with my second d and c, but did with my first and it reminds me of what you said you are going though.

That *****, wish they wouldve told me that, i thought i would get to a more non-preggo state afterwards.  If you dont mind me asking have you gotten AF yet or are your hgc levels at zero.  I took pregnancy test on 27th and it said positive, dr said that is normal, but they are not checking my hcg levels, i going to take another test on 17th if it is positive im going to request they take my levels.
