How far along were you? Or how many periods did u miss?
If the bleeding and cramps were not normal plus bleeding, you will know , chances are it could of been  boic. Preg. OR you didn't have enough of the preg hormones in your body, which would come up faint + & if you have a blood test done and if your hormone is over  a  certain levels # it's a positive , & you could of  had a miscarriage and  still show a + (the reason  is  because the hormone levels & your body is slowly  Getting back to normal and takes a while for it to  level out to 0)  Most people have miscarriages and confuse it as a late period, because a pregnancy test came up negative. My own experience I was almost three months pregnant when I finally got a + result.
I would like to say an thing over 10 hormone level wise is 100% + @ doc office , anything 5 & under will be negative, maybe slight positive on a home test maybe . Sorry for what ur going thru hope everything works out .

implantation bleeding wouldn't cause clots or that much pain.
it would be slight spotting.
you may bleed for up to 2weeks

Could be implantation bleeding? I never had implantation bleeding with my first pregnancy, but it could still be chemical or maybe very early miscarriage. You can have a miscarriage and still have a positive pregnancy test. Once your beta levels go to 5 or less, you should have a negative test.

cmac21 is right.
I had a chemical pregnancy the month before I got pregnant with this baby (I'm 19wks) and I started bleeding a day earlier than my period, cramps, heavy bleeding and lots of clots. Never got a positive test, but I've NEVER had a period like that - and it was my 3rd one after a 16wk m/c in September :(

Did the bleeding and cramps start aroung the time of your expected period? Could be a chemical pregnancy depending on how early you were doing the tests.
