miscarriage

on 5th of may 2010 at night a little blood gushed out..and then at 3 am i started to bleed again and there was some tissue..i went into ER and they did an ultrasound and some blood work...and they told me its a threat to iscarriage..they didnt see the baby or the heart beat..just an empty sac and there was some intrauterine fluid collection..i came back home and i was just spotting once in a while..my doctor told me there is no baby so i wont bleed much..i had another blood work the next day..and my hcg levels had dropped but my progestronel evels were still high..so my doctor called me and told me i will soon get a bad period...then after 2 days i stared bleeding..just a normal period..some period like cramping..i bled for 1 week and the had spotting for another week..
when the bleeding stopped i took a  pregnancy test and its a positive..and i feel pregnant..i some times feel movement in my abdomen..and slight pain around my bellybutton..i still have the preganncy symptoms..my pregnancy test was very clear this time compared to the one i took in the begnning..
has any one ever went throught his?could i possibly be pregnant ??i mean could this be a missed miscarriage..i told my doctor i want another ultrasound..so i will be scheduling it next week..i just wanted to know if any one has experienced any thing like this..

I am sorry for your loss.  How far along were you?  I do know it takes awhile for hcg levels to decrease so it could be your hcg levels decreasing.  At 5 weeks my hcg levels were 2 and I took a pregnancy test 4 weeks after my miscarriage and that was negative.  It could be the hcg levels decreasing.

I think in these situations it is hard to know what is happening until you get proof.  My cousin's partner miscarried and had bleeding, they couldn't find a heartbeat or anything and then 3 months later she was 5 months pregnant.  It was a mystery as to why she had bled so much and miscarried yet another baby survived.  It was very strange as she didn't know she was pregnant because she thought she miscarried.  They think she was pregnant with twins, one miscarried and the other survived which is now a healthy 3 year old.

I think that miracles do happen but most of the time it is less fortunate news we hear.  Good luck
