Hello.
I am an MRI tech, on here for research purposes, and felt like jumping in here.
Those white dots are the arterial supply to your brain. This slice shows the basilar and internal carotid artery leading up and into your brain.
Hope that is helpful.
p.s. those do not look like m.s. lesions to me...(but ii do have a simple mind LOL)
hi jennifeer,
i confess... i too am one of 'those' people who can not wait to plunck that little cd in my computerdrive before it has timme to cool ! LOL The report usuallyy i get a few days later.
I know the radiologist at my local hospital miss ALOT, I can even see compairin my own scans. So Itypically wait for my neuros to view them personally
Most times my neuros will go over them in the exam room with me
. I know the difficulty the patience waiiiitng game can be.
If you have the appt with a speciallist they shouldbe able to pick out anything they would be suspious of. Like Bob said, THere are thing that to us may seem off, but really aree normall like vessels and csf and such.
What you mentioned is the lateral ventrical(the butterfly shape). How exaclty it is suppose to look, I couldn't tell you. The link bob sent has many many pictures of ms lesions.... take a peek, and hope relax .
Have a good rest of your weekend. Let us know about any appts.

I typically recommend that people not stare at their own imaging too much. You will see things that may or may not be there. On of the problems with the jpeg you posted is that we have no idea of the technique that was used. MS lesions on a T2 sequence have a tendency to look like a slightly brighter smudge than the surrounding tissue. They do not stand out as very bright.
To get an idea of what lesions and "Black Holes" look like on an MRI, you might want to look at the MRI Atlas of MS Lesions. http://www.scribd.com/doc/8817608/MRI-Atlas-of-MS-Lesions
This might give you an idea that pre-GAD T2 lesions can be very subtle and require a lot of practice to read.

I only posted again with a pettee cause I didn't have one on the last one,i an not expecting evaluation or diagnosis, just relationship like isichitiu said, that relaxes me a little. I'm not gonna take it as a def answer. Thank you guys for your input
You have asked a few times here for members' evaluations of your MRIs. We just can't do that because we're not trained. Not even Quix, who is an MD but not a neurologist or radiologist.
It takes years of work to assess MRIs accurately, and even with that, the imaging technique has its severe limitations. Diagnosing MS is a really difficulty process.
Of course you have lots of questions, which we try to help with, but I also suggest you take the time to read our Health Pages, button at upper right. I think you'll find many answers there.

I think your doctor will say your MRI is normal. Mine has more stuff on and my doc still sais it is normal. Just my experience, I am no doctor.
Good luck,
depends on your symptoms you could have MS, mini strokes, cysts, brain tumor all depends on your symptoms.
