What to do after MRI...

Hey everyone,
Sorry i ask so many questions all the time lol im just really scared and find it hard to get answers from any where else, so thanks for bearing with me :)
I had my first MRI done last week and on the same day i called my neuros office to make a follow-up visit to go over the results. They told me that they usually just make phone calls and give the results over the phone and that they are backed up until September to see her in person. I thought that a phone call was a little impersonal considering all the stress ive already had waiting for these appts but i love the office staff and the dr. and i understand shes really backed up. Today i finally got a call back from them about the results and instead of telling me the results they just said i need to come in within the week to meet with the dr. because the dr will be going out of town in a week and she wants to see me bfore then. Naturally that scared the ever-livin out of me!
I told her that i want to know whats on the tests before i go in and so she said she'd talk to the doctor about the results and call me  back. She called me back and said that the dr told her to let me know that there is no MS on the scan and that it is not MS and not to worry, & that she just wanted to do a follow up. Even though that made me feel a lot better, it also made me really weary because why does she want to see me so quickly and in person if they normally do it on the phone? And if its nothing to worry about why does she have to make sure to fit me in within the week when normally their backed up by several months?
Does anyone know what else it could be on an MRI that i dont need to "worry" about?
Is there anything that could be on the MRI but isnt linked to MS? For example, i know that people can say that migraines show up on the mri but is there a way to defintely say that those spots are from a migraine and not MS? Should i really not be worrying right now? lol Sorry for babbling and sounding like a crazy person im just really anxious. Thanks so much for those who respond.

Waiting is always hard.  It seems like the worst part.  In reality, anything that confronts us with the unknown makes our human spirit uneasy.  Even the most laid back of us wants an instant answer when asking a WHY question.

Sometimes you can look at the CD using your computer but none of us here really knows what is normal and what isn't.  You can worry yourself more by trying to study something you don't understand.  The best thing is when a good neuro sits down with you and explains what they see in the images.

Do you have an appointment set up for this week?

Thanks so much everyone for the support and comments!!! I do have a copy of the MRI on CD but i have to wait a week to get the actual report back. Is there anyway to see anything from the pictures alone?

I am sorry you are scared that is not a fun place to be. A good friend told me "Most of the things I worried about never came to pass, other things happened but not what I worried about.

In my Neurological journey they thought I had many things. Some were pretty scary. None of the really scary things the Neurologists thought I had were there.

For my own sake I try to relax until I am told otherwise.

Even Doctors are sometimes wrong. I was told I had different cancer three times from looking at tests and I did not. I was told I had three deadly neurological things and I did not. Each time the Doctors were very worried and kinda embarrased for upsetting me in the end.

I have learned not to bend myself all in knots which I have been good at.

It may be that she just wants to explain her findings in person so if you have questions she can answer them. Telephone communication is often passive and leaves people more confused.

You take care of yourself.

I wonder how long of a vacation?  My first child was born out of convenience for the doctor, who was going on a sailfishing vacation to the Bahamas.  He induced labor for a large number of his patients.  That of course didn't make the nurses on the ward happy.

It may be that she wants to review everything and set up a plan but doesn't want you waiting and worrying until her return.

Perhaps she saw something suspicious and wants to set up further testing?

That said, my follow up appt with the Neuro after my LP was much like yours - the nurse called and said he wants to see you this week.  What day can you come in?    As soon as they said that I knew I was definitely confirmed for MS.  I went in three days later and heard the official news.

I'm with you in wondering and worrying about what this might mean.  I hope you can take the words they offered as a bit of comfort while you wait.

Do you have this appointment set up yet?  Keep us posted, ok?

hugs, Lu

Well heck, it could be a lot of things. Not sure what your sx are but really doesn't matter, it would be a guess anyway.

It sounds like maybe they found something but not serious OR they found nothing and they want to discuss other tests?  I am with Sum, if it were something serious they wouldn't have said not to worry.

Have you had anything else checked out yet..there are so many
diseases that mimic MS, it could be a number other diseases

You just need to know what she says when you go in...there may be something else on your mri.

let us know,

Trust me, she wouldn't have told you not to worry if something had been there.  If she did, she is running for idiot neuro of the year.

She probably has been told by the staff that you are filled with anxiety over it and wants to meet.  Perhaps she from her exam can see something is going on neurological and wants to assure you she will be continuing to work with you.

If that is her reason, I think ya got a good one.
