MamiJ - all of the above advice sure makes a lot of sense to me.
What do you think? Do you believe that there is something physically wrong? Of course you do - you are listening to your body and your instinct. Don't ignore those voices telling you something is amiss - go find a doctor to work with you and find the answers.
be well, Lulu

I can't add anything else to the wonderful advice already given...but I'll send you some virtual ((hugs))

Thanks, Erin.
Yes, that was me with the mitral valve prolapse.
When I tell a new dr all of my health history, they look at me like I'm a hypochondriac.
Wondering if I can get some PT or something and give up on the dr for a while.
Thanks, everyone!
When my sx first started I spent about 18 months going to drs trying to figure out what was wrong. Eventually, I decided (for me, personally) that the "search" was causing me more stress than my sx (at the time). I decided to take a break, but vowed that if things got a lot worse, I would try again.
I had some additional sx over the years, but I didn't think any were bad enough to start up again. Some I didn't recognize (the "hug" which I eventually went to the ER for and they said "inflamed cartiledge in the ribcage.") I told my family and friends it was complicated migraine (which actually was the only "dx" I received) and basically said everything was fine. I was tired of everyone worrying about me.
About 18 months ago I got struck with occipital neuralgia and trigeminal neuralgia (at 34). I decided to start going back to a neuro (now in a different state). I was much more selective about who I told about my sx this time. I still can't stand to have everyone worried about me, but I do need some people to understand what's going on.
I still don't have a dx, though my neuro says it "looks, smells, sounds, and tastes like MS" but I have a clear MRI. So, she's treating my sx and I'm going with that for now. At some point I may get frustrated enough and decide to push harder for an actual dx (is there ANYTHING else to rule out or that it could be???) but for now, it's okay.
I guess my point is that you have to figure out what process will work for you right now. Do you feel like you need a dx or better treatment? Then you should seek out a dr who will work with you. Are you completely stressed by the whole process? Then you should take a break, but figure out when/what will make you start looking again.
I'm sorry it's so difficult! I know how you feel.
Stephanie
Maybe I'm crazy but I'm pretty sure that I just typed your name on another post that included the fact that you have Mitral Valve Prolapse?!
Let me say that you are not crazy and even if there was NOTHING wrong physically if you feel pain and sick then there is something wrong. Don't listen to that it's in your head b/s cause even if your problems were physchological you would still have something wrong and need help!!! That one pushes my buttons and coming from your hubbie must really hurt your feelings.
PLEASE tell him something about it like maybe I know that you love me and just want me to be well but it is important for you to know that it hurts my feelings when you say things like that. IF I could feel great tomorrow trust me I would do just that. Ok pick your words but you get the point.
I have burned out over the years and called it quits with the doctors for a while so that is not a bad idea. It doesn't mean you are quiting or excepting defeat just catching your breath and gathering your resolve to start again with a new/better doctor.
Make an appointment now for some place new. It will probably take 2-3 months to get in and instead of counting down the days until the appt. view it as your time off from the rollercoaster. Keep a journal of new and recurring symptoms and even jot down the really good days. When the next part of the journey starts you will be refreshed or at least in a different place than you are now and hopefully find a great doctor.
Good luck & keep us posted
Hugs,
Erin :)
I know it's frustrating when doctors haven't identified illness or haven't seen objective evidence yet. You know your body better than anyone ever will, if you feel that there is something wrong then don't give up.
With that said, sometimes it is helpful to take a break from trying to find answers. It's a long road and if it is MS it will be a very long road.
Be good to yourself today. Keep us posted too

You know your body and know when something isn't right. Don't give up until you get the answers you want and deserve.
It can't be in your head, well I guess it is possible but you know your body better than the doctors.
It is good news that everything is ok with your urology eval but you still deserve answers.
Good luck and keep us posted.
