neuro visit still a limbolander

so, as I figured. I went to my neuro today and he looked at my new mri films and told me because there has been no change in the brain lesions(and yes there are alot of them) in the last 2 years ,he thinks that all my symptoms are attributed to a previous neck surgery. (10 years ago) and a pevious back surgery 20 years ago and oh to explain the lesions I smoked a pack a day for 26 years. I quit 11 years ago. His words to me were well if you never smoked or had neck surgery and back surgery I would think you had ms but because of those things I cannot say it is ms. your symptoms could be explained away by your surgeries. ok!!!! Now I went 17 years after back surgery and 7 years after neck surgery with no problems but all of a sudden in the last 2 years I started to have all these problems and they are from the surgeries. what did he do for me? Gave me more drugs to take. double up the zanaflex take 2- 4 mgs. every night and 1 every day. drugs drugs and more drugs.............................roncart

Wow Roncart,
this just continues to drag on for you - and I can feel Shadowsisters wrath on this one.  I think its time for you to change neuros - move on and try this again.  If this is not Ms then you deserve and answer as to what it really is.  And I don't think the lesions come from back or neck surgery.

hang in there,
Lulu

OK THIS IS THE LAST STRAW ! ! !
I HAVE HAD IT... HAVE THE NEUROS GONE MAD WITH GREED?  ARE THEY ALL WORKING FOR THE INSURANCE COMPANIES AND PHARMACIAL COMPANIES?
IT'S LIKE I AM LIVING IN A NIGHTMARE AND CAN'T  WAKE UP.

SOME HOW WE HAVE TO START FIGTING BACK IN WASHINGTON DC. I NOW BELIEVE THESE SO CALL  NEUROLOGIST MS SPECICALIST MUST BE WORKING WITH THE INS. & DRUG COMPANIES. WHY OR HOW I DON'T KNOW BUT IT'S THE ONLY THING THAT MAKES SENSE TO ME.
ESPECIALY IN YOUR CASE RON. SMOKING DOES NOT CAUSE MS " LIKE"  LESIONS... IT JUST ISN'T TRUE. NOR WOULD YOU PAST ACCIDENTS... HOW STUPID !!!

IS THIS WHY  THOSE OF YOU WAITING FOR A DX  ARE FINDING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO BE GIVEN A DX. DO YOU REALIZE THAT ONCE YOU GET DX MOST OF THE EXPENSIVE TESTING IS DONE. THAT IS UNLESS YOU GET INVOLVED IN CLINICAL TRIALS.... YES I AM VERY SERIOUS ABOUT THIS.

IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT IN JANUARY 1986 IT ONLY TOOK ONE MONTH OF TESTING, THE LAST TEST BEING A SIMPLE MRI, NO DYE.. NOTHING BUT A PLAIN OLD MRI. I GOT THE RESULTS AND DX WITHIN THREE (3) HOURS ON THE VERY SAME DAY...HELLO ! ! !...IS ANY ONE ELSE SEEING A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS???

I AM GOING SOME THINKING ABOUT THIS AND TRY TO COME WITH A "GAME PLAN" TO DO SOME THING TO PUT A STOP TO THIS NONSENSE...
I HAPPEN TO KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY " FLOWER CHILD" OF THE 60'S IN OUR GROUP.. REMEMBER WE WERE THE GENERATION THAT FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM AND FOUND A REASONABLE SOLUTION.... SO YOU HANG IN THERE RON, DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP ON YOU OR YOU LIFE...

I'LL BE CHECKING IN ON YOU, SO I CAN SEND YOU YOUR DAILY DOSE OF MY FAMOUS HUGS {{{~!~}}}

HI there,
You must be feeling gutted!!  Can you get a second opinion.  I am certainly no medical expert but I would think why all these symptoms now?  Shouldn't they have been 20 years ago after your surgery.

I mean it is nice not to have MS and yes if they don't have the evidence to diagnose you so be it because it would be bad to be diagnosed when it is not MS.

Has he/she organised more follow up MRI to monitor the lesions?  Over what period have they been watching you?  I think I would get another opinion!

I have not had MS ruled out and I have normal MRI and he has been monitoring me for over 2 years now with repeat MRI...

Find a Dr who cares.

Lots of hugs,
Udkas.
