Not too exciting here. I just finished rounding up all of my med records for the new neuro in a few weeks and faxing them. Hopefully they will help. I got the eye doc to send the Neuralgia statement (though he told me neuritis?), all my info from Mayo when they suspected MS two years ago, my regular PCP notes from when the headaches started.
Crossing my fingers!
Other than that maybe I'll actually get around to having my hair done today?
AND my good friend was induced this morning with her first baby boy! I'm waiting for the pics and info. I'm so excited for her!
Happy Thursday!

Well once again, I have another update. This is turning out to be a busy week.
Today - have to hurry actually - I have quite a battery of tests! First an echo-cardiogram, then a pause, then a mammogram, then a thoracic CAT scan, followed by a brain MRI. The echo is to check on my Pulmonary Hypertension AND Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction. The Mammogram is routine, as I have cystic, fibrous breasts, and my mother had/has Breast Cancer. The CAT scan is to check on a Speenic Cyst, Bile Duct, Pancreatic Duct Enlargement, GI problems, raised Diaphram and Hiatal Hernia, and a few assorted other things. The brain MRI is of course to see if there are new lesions or other problems. SO - fun day - better get moving. I didn't sleep and aspirated, so it won't be easy.
Take care everyone. Hope your day is a good one.
Blessings, Jan
I haven't been around for awhile...but I'm here again.
July has been a bad month for me, health-wise. Lots of vision problems, pain, neuropathy, etc. I'm still "in limbo" so it's frustrating...as it seems to be another exacerbation. But I'm tired of going through the motions at the hospital (MRI, etc) to get nothing out of it. So I saw my PCP today (had to have a colposcopy/biopsy for obviously unrelated health stuff) and he gave me a referral to the MS Center in Kansas City. He'll be faxing it tomorrow and then I'll get a call from them to make arrangements. Hopefully we'll be on the right track to finding answers and making a plan. My last neuro (last visit in December) was worthless so...I'm anxious about a new one.
But other than that I'm just trying to enjoy the summer with my two young children. Tomorrow we're going to the wild animal park and we're very excited. I've wanted this summer to be full of fun activities but it has been somewhat limited because of my health issues lately. But we're making the most of it.
Monday, came back from sacramento
Tuesday, picked up Fluffy.
Wednesday, my birthday; I'm going out to dinner.
Friday, I'm going to a Zoo Concert with a group of friends; VIP seating, which means they supply blankets to sit on, bring us food and drinks in souvenir Zoo glasses, maybe an autographed CD, reserved parking; what a treat! We'll be front and center, so we'll have shade and a good view.
Should be a good week!
Having parents looking over your shoulder at VBS has to be sooooo annoying! That's a real stresser. Sounds like you've got a lot you're juggling. Sounds like my former self! I wish you well.
Blessings, Jan
Two weeks out on DX. waiting to see my neuro and to get approval for meds. starting to go numb again, hope it will stop, aside from that alls well.
Please pray for strength for me this week. We have VBS all week & I am a table leader for 6 four year olds (with lots of energy). Two of the children have parents in the room & always want to be with them or want their attention. My voice is shot already & no more energy. We also have 2 Foster Care classes this week - tonight & Thursday. Still recovering for the Girl Scout overnighter Saturday night.
Sorry I have been so absent lately - no time & even less energy. Hopefully things will slow down soon.
Be well all
Janette
Oh my gosh, I forgot about my appt today with my PCP. I went Friday and missed him - was too late, but ran into him in the hall and talked to him about all the bad reactions to the Rebif etc. He said I was progressing and had to do something so he hoped I could stick it out. I see him today for the actual appt and he said he'd "wait for me"! Pitiful - I simply MUST get there on time. It seems so hard for me to get places any more. When I ran into him I asked about what he'd done to contact the doctors at KU Med. He said he would if he knew their names!!!!! HELP - I think he's getting dementia because he has been told many times PLUS he wrote their names in the letter of referral he wrote. I asked if someone else wrote the letter and he said "no, I wrote it". Scares me - he forgets so many things anymore. Plus I've left so many messages with the nurses and he says he doesn't get them. When he does they get garbled. I'm concerned because he's just a couple years older than me!
Anyway, that's 2 doctor's appt., 1 procedure, and 3 injections this week. Thought I'd update again.
Blessings, and I hope everyone with appts and tests get some answers and good news this week. Jan
So happy to hear about your scooter, Linda. Enjoy.
well, got my scooter and I am so happy. It is great.
Wishing everyone a good week Linda
See my PCP on Wed. Maybe he will be able to explain some of my recent tests to me, but I really don't think he will. Have been getting really fed up with him.

Another week here with nothing scheduled on the medical front.
Tonight I expect to meet another of Nancy's brothers -- the one who is a pastor. He and his wife, and probably their kids, are driving down from that state up north to retrieve their stepdad, who's been staying with Nancy for a couple of weeks. I will be sad to see him go, as will Bandit.
Friday, Nancy and I are to attend a Pastors Appreciation Banquet given by the Gideons International, in Columbus. Sunday is the close of our district camp and the opening of the district conference, which continues on Monday with a day full of reports and voting (exciting stuff, huh?).
I don't think my next medical appointment is until September (guess I'd best be checking on that), although with the amount of blood they pulled out of me at the lab last week, I ought to hear something in the interim. I'd like to see them do a new brain MRI and a spinal one, while we're waiting. Not holding my breath, though. Those with the say-so to order such a thing aren't yet convinced that this isn't migraine. A nearly year-long migraine; interesting, huh?
I guess I'll spend some time checking out more on migraine through MedHelp. My general sense, though, having experienced classic migraine with aura in the past, is that this ain't that. Also, the migraine forum wasn't nearly as much fun as this gang, last time I checked.
Offering prayers that a restorative week will greet each of you.
Hi All,
Right I have a busy week lined up - so I can finally post something on the weekly roundup :)
Today I am supposed to go to the Cardios' to have a holtor fitted (been having PAC and PVCS when exercising, and also high resting pulse rate - just for added measure!)
Think I might have to re-appoint 'cos fatigue is really causing problems.
GREAT NEWS though, eldest Son is coming on Friday for a holiday - yay!! He's 28 and has a PhD in Chemistry. He comes in very handy when I want to know something about meds!!
Have to clean the house, do a ton of ironing ready for the change-over of the Gite on Saturday, and then the Tour de France is passing right past our house - also on Saturday afternoon, so if your watching you'll see me waving like mad for Lance Armstrong:))
It's good to wind the French up, not difficult to do, they are have zero personality heheh
Take care,
Debs xx
Got my new 3T MRI done last week, so although I have an appointment with my MS neuro on August 6th, going to see if I can get in any sooner to go over it and see what's next.
Driving to Portland, OR for the day on Saturday for my Niece's 1st Birthday! Should be fun!
Hope everyone has a healthy, happy week!
Chrisy
Tuesday - I see the specialist at UK to get his thoughts on my MRI and EEG
Thursday - cognitive training
Friday - I take mom to see the rehab specialist for her knee.
Thank goodness it is a slow week.
Howdy,
I just started Rebif last Thursday - hit me like a mac truck. It was better last night. I give the injections every other night - three nights a week. The first cause terrible pain down my legs and fever, so I was pretty worried about the next. It wasn't quite as bad though. I'll take a month and a half to work up to full dose. I start at 8.8 mg and go to 44 mg. Scary to think what would have happened starting at 44!! Yikes. No site reaction yet though., although it is listed first on the list. I just hope I don't get one.
Friday I have a EMG on my right leg because of the foot drop. Other than that - family stuff, rest, and hopefully some housework.
All depends on stamina!
Hope everyone else is doing well. One day at a time for me.
Blessings, Jan
